The SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket sits on Launch Pad 39A at the Kennedy Space Center as it prepares for tomorrow’s liftoff February 5, 2018 in Cape Canaveral, Florida. The rocket, which is the most powerful rocket in the world, is due to make its maiden flight tomorrow between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Founder and CEO of WordPress and its parent company, Automattic, Matt Mullenweg, revealed that he recently discovered how to mount the Starlink satellite dish on his electric vehicle, according to the Tesmanian report.

The founder of WordPress told Protocol in an interview that the early days of the pandemic forced Mullenweg to buy a motorhome, which he drove across the United States himself.

His trip includes numerous stops at tons of national parks as he comes and goes from San Francisco and Houston.

The road trip across the country was made possible thanks to the motorhome that he personalized to his liking.

The internet entrepreneur enthusiastically told the outlet that “I really like networking gear” as he was about to dive into customizing his motorhome.

Mullenweg recounted that by the time he had already bought himself a motorhome, he started tinkering with the internet service for the vehicle.

The founder of Automattic said he had “implemented a modem router to several cell phones”, which allows him to connect to the three largest carriers in the United States. However, despite this, it established the connection in a single Wi-Fi network.

Just recently, the online businessman discovered a much faster way to connect to the Internet remotely.

“What we recently figured out is how to mount a Starlink on top,” he said, noting that SpaceX’s satellite dish now gives him much faster internet speeds.

But still, he said the Starlink satellite dish still has some limitations as it appears to be geo-locked in the Wyoming area. As such, the US web developer said “you can’t get around it.”

Nonetheless, he said his motorhome now enjoys the same internet quality as a broadband connection after installing the Starlink drive.

Starlink Mobile?

Moreover, the American entrepreneur revealed in the same interview that he is still waiting for his next internet upgrade.

Mullenweg noted that SpaceX had just unveiled its intention to deploy a mobile version of Starlink, which should allow it to travel with it.

It should be noted that Elon Musk, CEO and founder of SpaceX announced on April 16 that Starlink will be fully mobile by the end of 2021.
