Web tool calibrates radar and IMU sensors

Deepen Calibrate, from start-up Deepen AI, cuts the time spent calibrating multi-sensor data from hours to minutes. With the addition of radar and IMU (inertial measurement unit) sensor pairings, the web-based software tool now offers 10 different calibration pairs to accelerate the development and safety of autonomous vehicles.

Calibration of sensor data is essential for stand-alone systems. These systems depend on sets of sensors, including cameras and LiDAR, to see the world around them. But these sensors need to be carefully calibrated with each other and with reality to ensure that systems are functioning properly and safely.

Deepen Calibrate allows users to view and inspect multi-sensor data integrity, calculate intrinsic and extrinsic calibration parameters, and export data to Deepen’s annotation tools.

Deepen Calibrate now supports the following calibrations:

  • Camera radar
  • IMU to vehicle
  • Intrinsic IMU
  • Camera vehicle
  • LiDAR to camera
  • LiDAR to vehicle
  • Stereo camera
  • Camera without overlap
  • LiDAR to LiDAR
  • Intrinsic camera

The company also offers a loop-based calibration optimizer to identify and correct small errors in calibrations of multiple sensors, resulting in highly accurate sensor fusion. Calibration Optimizer works for multiple sensors forming a closed loop.

Licenses and custom packages are available for businesses. Other types of calibration are added regularly. Use the product page link below to request a trial of Deepen Calibrate.
